The community cleanup program engages around 8,000 volunteers a year to remove upwards of 10,000 pounds of trash from San Diego beaches annually. Your participation means you will directly benefit the ecological community in which you operate. Sponsored cleanups are a great way to show that your company cares about our community, and is participating hands-on in caretaking our environment.With your help, we collect data at beach cleanups to determine the main sources of pollution on our shores. This data informs our education and policy efforts to prevent trash from reaching the beach in the first place. At the end of each year, we combine data with San Diego Coastkeeper and publish a detailed report on our cleanup findings.With over 100 cleanup and beautification sites throughout San Diego County, Coastal Cleanup Day offers this unique opportunity to explore new areas in your own town! Volunteers can find a new area for hiking or a neighborhood park they never knew about before.
